Project Paul

Posted Nov 29 2008 12:27pm

A couple weeks ago I received an email from someone in Colorado that I have never met, spoken with, or knew existed. This person had been reading my blog and told me about their awesome health and fitness goal of losing 30-40 lbs by years end !

We decided that I would provide them with guidance and recommendations during their health and fitness journey. Then we agreed to document the experience on my blog for all of you to see.

Ladies and gentlemen, I want to introduce you to my first ever online client and partner for this project ( drum roll please) .....

PAUL!

Paul's Stats
(August 28, 2007)

  • Height - 5' 10''
  • Weight - 229
  • Age - 33

Paul's Goal Weight - 190 - 200

Every few weeks I will update you on Paul's fitness routine, what he's eating, how we are adjusting his program, progress being made, challenges faced, and anything he'll share with me!Paul is also working on developing his own blog for this and soon you'll be able to view it yourself.

This means that YOU will be keeping him motivated and accountable too.

Step #1: Paul's Goal Setting -

Short term:

  • Increase cardio endurance
  • Eat Better
  • Target chest, torso, and glutes

Long term:

  • Lose 30-40 lbs. by Jan 1 2008

It is recommended by dietitians, medical and health professionals to lose weight safely and effectively by not exceeding 1-2 lbs loss per week. *NOTE* 1-2 lbs per week is challenging.

Starting the week of September 17, 2007 (next week) Paul will have about 15 weeks before the new year. With the above recommendation he can realistically aim for a 15-30 lbs loss.

To monitor his progress, I will break down his long term goal into (3) 5-week weight loss goals of 5-10 lbs. Every 5 weeks we will formally check-in, get feedback, and have him take measurements.

Paul, thank you for sharing this with us, we are all behind you.

Good luck!
