Resistance Band Upper Body Work Out

I woke up this morning feeling rather tired and not wanting to go to the gym. I'd spent a large part of the weekend working to help clean up Galveston, so my energy level was low. After dropping the youngest son at his 5 a.m. basketball practice, I forced myself to pull into the gym.

After a good 20 minutes on the treadmill, I felt a new flow of energy and decided to take a fitness class from the new instructor at our gym. (ok, we were checking out the new guy, give us a break!) Doug's 30 minute upper body resistance band class was just the right speed and intensity for the day.

My regular group of fitness friends and I laughed and sweated our way through 30 minutes of high reps mixed with intense intervals of fat burning cardio! (I'm wondering if poor Doug thinks we're insane) Our workout today consisted of ...
  • Chest Press
  • Bent Over Rows
  • Rear Delt Rows
  • One Arm Lateral Raise
  • Bicep Curl
  • Band Kickbacks
  • Good Old Fashioned Pushups
I've used bands before, but the intensity of the workout, mixed with the competitiveness of my gal pals really made this a fun and very effective workout!
