Take Your Medicine Balls Home And Play, 3

Posted Mar 05 2009 4:29am
Use your medicine balls to warmup prior to your workout....

I am shocked at how many people I see walk into a gym and start a workout without a warmup....that's a recipe for injury.....the following is not a proper warmup:

1. One to 2 minutes for a warmup is not enough to get your body ready for the workout.

2. If you only do static stretches for your warmup, that is not enough. It is better to warmup your body with a dynamic exercise such as running or jumping rope to warm your muscles and get the blood flowing. Do your static stretches after the workout to bring your muscles back to normal length.

3. Talking with your friends for 5-10 minutes is not a warmup! Don't laugh because I have seen this happen.

Use medicine balls to warmup your total body:

-- two handed chest passes
-- figure 8s
-- chops
--squats
--pushups
