This surprising nutritional research made me have a C+C Music Factory song flashback today! After reading, it made me go 'Hmm...' Not Mmm.... So what exactly did bring me back to the 1990's you may ask? The American Dietetic Association found that, the average amount of sodium found in a veggie burger is 5 times that of a beef burger! This really makes you think... There are so many meat substitute products on the market...veggie dogs, veggie sausages, and veggie burgers and we automatically believe that they will be more healthy and nutritious than having actual meat. Well all is not always as it seems. Let this be a reminder to all of us to always read food labels! Do you buy 'veggie' meat products? Did this information make you go Hmm too? |
