Todays Cardio and Leg Workout

Posted Nov 04 2009 10:02pm

Before I go on and tell you about today’s adventure let me first kind of explain the roll of two people that I work with in regards to my training. That way there is no confusing the two. First there is Paul. Who is the owner/president of RealResults Fitness here in Las Vegas. What Paul does is the Fitness tests and 8 week evaluations, plus works the details of the nutritional and training aspect as well. He is the one that designs the programs I follow and tels me what I can do and what I can’t do. :-) I consider Paul as the Head Trainer.

Then there is Chris. he is the one that actually trains me and implements the programs that Paul as set for me. Chris is the one that helps push me out of my comfort zone and works my butt off in the strength training aspect of it. he also makes sure that I am on track and goes over my meals to make sure that I am properly doing the program. I work with Chris about 4 times a week now. Well worth it.

Now unto what I did today. Well Paul wanted me to step it up a bit and that’s exactly what I did today. I worked my arse off  and boy there was a time were I didn’t think I was going to finish what I wanted to do as far as my cardio. I wanted to give up and say that’s enough for today, but I didn’t. I worked through it ands finish each part that I wanted to do. Was it easy, NO! Was I out of my comfort zone, Yes! Was it worth it, Yes! so the yeses win today and the calories I burned shows it.

So for cardio I did:

  • 30 minutes on the Elliptical @ 1.68 miles, Level 21 for 25 minutes and Level 25 (maximum) for 5 minutes, 810 calories burned.
  • 30 minutes on the Treadmill @ 1.70 miles, Incline 11% for 8 minutes and Incline 13% for 2 minutes (repeated twice), 3.40 mph, and 595 calories burned.
  • 30 minutes on the Bike @ 7.40 miles, Level 12, 75-85 rpms, and 260 calories burned.

So all in all is was 90 minutes and 1665 calories burned.

Now even I am impressed with those number and results :-) It just show me what I truly am capable of once I allow my self to get out of my comfort zone. Quite a great achievement on this end. Then after a 15 minute break it was time to workout with Chris. Today being “Leg Day”.

Now this went just as well too and it was a great ending to a perfect workout day.

So for the legs I did, 3-4 sets and  10-25reps/set of:

  • 2 Legged Leg Press (500 maximum weight)
  • 1 Legged Leg Press (150 pounds maximum weight)
  • Dead Lifts
  • Leg Curls
  • Leg Extensions
  • Stretching to end it all, a requirement!

For me that too was a perfect leg workout that I like to do. I suppose next time well do something different like more lunges and squats. That’s what I like about working with Chris. He changes the routine each time so that I don’t get board and we work and try different things that work the muscles hard.

Now time for me to have some lunch that will consist of some Grilled Atlantic Salmon with Steamed Cauliflower, Asparagus and Broccoli. Yum Yum…

Catch you all tomorrow. May you day be a healthy and Safe one…
