International Sports Sciences Association ( ISSA ) polled their member database -- nearly 100,000 health and fitness professionals strong -- for their top recommendations for the
10 best things their clients can do to improve their health in the year ahead. Here are the results of that survey:
Drink more water
Lift weights
Get 7-8 hours of sleep per night
Eat less processed food
Eat 5 servings of veggies daily
Eat more protein
Get a doctor's physical
Eat 5 servings of fruit daily
Stretch
Don't drink sugary sodas
With that all said, you cannot take on all these resolutions at once! If you do, your likelihood of success is comparable to that of Michael Jackson being hired as a kindergarten teacher.
Pick 3 that are realistic and achievable for where you currently are in your life. Reassess in March, and add another one or two if you are doing well on the original 3. Take inventory again on your resolutions in June and one more time in September.
I have personally ranked ISSA's 10 resolutions from what I consider to be easy tomost difficult.Good Luck!
