Hey guys! I’m blogging from the sky :D This past weekend was so.much.fun! The only complaint I have is that it was too short!!! I’m hoping the fam will make a trip to V-town sometime soon so they can see the wasteland beautiful town I reside in ;)

Hope you all had a fun weekend, too!!!
Here is part dos of the Tucson re-cap….

The pilot and I spent a couple of hours at the insanely gorgeous Sabino Canyon. We did a mix of walking, running and hiking and the weather was perfection.

We even saw some little creatures! (No mountain lions, thank goodness)

A lizard:

Frog:

and a DEER:

So much fun! Usually when we go to Sabino Canyon, I’ll run and enjoy the scenery, but we took some tiny trails and got to see a lot more than we usually do. Usually, nature and I don’t get along too well, but the pilot was way proud of me for trekking through the wilderness with him ;)
After our Sabino Canyon adventure –and burning an extra 450 cals on top of the Bikram I did that morning- we were starving!
We met up with the familia at Sushi Garden for an amazing lunch.
We all shared some edamame:

And for the meal I ordered the squid salad, which came with miso soup:

A house salad and salmon sashimi:

The pilot and his friend Rob did the all-you-can-eat sushi (of course).

(Excuse the weird face, hahaha)
It was an amazing meal! Even though we were both stuffed to the gills with fish the pilot wanted to lift weights, so we went to the base gym for a half hour before meeting up with my dad’s side of the fam.
I went into the aerobics room and did some ab exercises including crunches, scissors, stability ball passes and leg raises. Since I was in the deserted aerobics room, which has bars and mirrors in it (unlike the base gym in V-town), I decided to bust out a little of my dance moves and did some fuetes, grand jettes and toe touches. Thank goodness no one walked in—I was rocking out ;)
After the gym, we got ready and went over to my dad’s house to chill with my dad, stepmom and brothers.
Snack was a gorgeous plate of fruit:

We went to the park where my bro had a baseball game and I cheated on my puppies and played with Maxie:

And Abbie:

For dinner, we went to one of my favorite places in T-town: OREGANO'S!!!!
I got a house salad with no cheese and no dressing:

And shared a whole wheat Mediterranean pizza with my nana, mom and stepdad. My half had no cheese:

The best part about Oregano’s is the dessert:
PIZOOKIE

It’s a cookie baked in a deep dish pizza pan topped with ice cream and chocolate chips.
I had 5 foodgasm filled bites :D
I also made a critical stop at Trader Joe’s:

Well I’m off to read and snooze on the plane for a little while! We get back into town pretty late and are going to pick the puppies up from Megan’s (thanks again for watching the little monsters, friend!!).
I’ll see you guys from Valdizzy with the rest of the Tucson re-cap and pics of my purchases :D
xoxo,
Gina
Something to do: Abs workout!!!
Some of my clients have had the misconception that abs need to be worked every day- totally not the case. Abs are JUST LIKE any other muscle group and only need to be worked 2-3 times max per week with a day of rest in between. Anything more than that and you’re just hindering your progress. My abs started looking their best when I worked them out LESS and started focusing on nutrition and cardio: the most important factors for solid abbies.
Try this workout 2-3x per week in addition to clean eating and cardio:
| Crunches | 3 sets of 15- make such to exhale as you come up and keep your abs contracted; if it’s easy for you, put a 5-10lb flat weight on your chest |
| Stability ball leg raises | 3 sets of 12 |
| Bicycle crunches | 3 sets of 10 on each side, holding the 10th one on each side for 20 seconds |
| Plank pose | 1 minute; 3 sets |
| Hanging leg raises | 3 sets of 10-12 |
