Hi everyone! I've been MIA from Blogworld all day, but it has been so nice to spend a day chilling with the hubby- especially since he worked such long and crazy hours last week!
This morning we slept in (it felt so good to sleep after that workshop... I was exhausted), and had an awesome breakfast. Cold oats for me with banana, raspberries and scrambled 2 egg whites topped with Texas Pete.

I made the Pilot some Protein Power Pancakes (1/2 cup oatmeal, 1/2 cup milk, 2 eggs, 1 scoop of protein powder, 1 ts of baking powder, cinnamon and nutmeg) and he really liked them! I might make some for myself one of these days, but scale down the portions to make it more Gina calorie-friendly.
After breakfast, we went to Wal-Mart (or "the Wizzle"... hahah we don't always talk like that-- Wal-mart and Starbucks are the only places with Snoop Dogg inspired nicknames, I promise), and webought some RAFTS(or "floats" as some may call them). I can't believe we waited until almost the end of summer to invest in a couple, but it was so worth it. We swam with the new rafts... I had the intention of doing some laps until I realized how glorious it felt to be floating around in the pool instead :)
I went and got some groceries for tonight (tuna steak) and tomorrow's (shrimp and prosciutto penne pasta) dinners. The commisscarywas closed when I got there because the power went out on base from the storms, so I had to go to Publix.Tragedy, right?I could have spent a couple of hours in that store! I grabbed some deli peanut butter and was very stoked to see that they carried Z-bars (haven't been able to find them anywhere here!) and the sushi counter FINALLY started making brown rice rolls. Score.
When I got home from groceries, I was ready for some lonchi. I split a pita pocket in half, topped it with no-sugar Ragu, reduced-fat cheddar, kalamata olives, sundried tomatoes and red pepper flakes, and baked it up for 10 minutes at 375. Here's what I got:
PITA PIZZAS!
WIth a salad topped with garbanzo beans, it was a perfect lunch :)
We hit up the gym and both had pretty low-key workouts today. I ran for 25 minutes (6.0 with 3.5% incline) and did: crunches (3 sets of 25), reverse crunches (3 sets of 15), incline crunches with 10 lb weight (3 sets of 12) and side bends (3 sets of 20). It was a lot less than I usually do, but after yesterday's workout, my muscles areSORE.I didn't think they would be, because we didn't use weights to go over any of the exercises, but it's like I was mock weight-lifting from 9-6. I'm definitely feeling it today, so I took it easy.
For dinner tonight, we had tuna steaks (with a soy sesame ginger marinade), artichokes, and I had salad while the hubby muched some wasabi mashed potatoes.Scrumptious.

For dessert, (even though I had half a figgy bar) I made a baked peach with some raspberries:
(they're waiting for me to finish this blog)
I think we're going blueberry picking tomorrow :D
I'm gonna go, because FOOD NETWORK STAR FINALE IS ON TONIGHT!!! It starts in 5 minutes! I've been waiting for this all week. Who's gonna win?? I'm hoping for Lisa, but I really like all of them. Well I hope everyone has had a fabulous day! See ya in the morning.
Love,
G
