Aspirin has a lot of side effects, and it's important to ask your doctor if you are at risk for heart attack or stroke, and if it will benefit you. Coated aspirin are easier on the stomach, and reduce the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding.
Some people are resistant to the effects of aspirin, and it does them no good at all - another reason to discuss daily aspirin use with your doctor.
Generally speaking, aspirin is recognized as a good preventive therapy for anyone at risk for heart attack and stroke. Most heart patients are advised to take a daily dose, but it's not something you should initiate until you discuss it with your healthcare provider.
The reason it works for stroke and heart attack prevention is because it prevents the platelets in the body from clumping together. The platelets are blood cells that are partly responsible for helping the blood clot.

We all know that an apple a day will provide our body with fiber and vitamins and minerals that we need to stay healthy. But did you know that science is recommending an aspirin a day to keep the doctor away? Or rather, half a baby aspirin. The thing is, an aspirin works as a blood thinner, making it less likely for people who have been taking it to have heart attacks, strokes and blood clots. The problem is, the ingredients of aspirin are acidic, so some people are unable to take them due to stomach complications. If you've never heard of this (now common) remedy, check in with your doctor. In the long run, it might just save your life!
