irregular bleeding

My last period lasted more than 20 days. doc had to give me norethisterone to stop the bleeding as it got very heavy.. they had done my blood test to check hormonal imbalance. but doctor said that the test is fine. after taking the tablets for 10 days (thrice a day), i stopped it. the very next day i got my periods again which lasted for another 7 days. Doc said its normal. but within a span of 3 days i have got my periods again. Is it because i took the tablets or do i need to see the doc soon.
