What causes a high white blood count but the patient has no symtoms?

Posted by motherof 2

My daughter is 5 months old and has a high white blood count but no symtoms, no fever, no ear infection, no strep throat, no running nose, nothing but her white blood count is very high, what would cause that? What should signs or symtoms should I look for, that would be considered serious and may need medical attention right away?

Hi

if she is 5 months old then she obviously cannot express a whole lot of symptoms. I was ordered a blood count test when i kept complaining to my doctor about unexplained pains in my body. The tests showed that I have a slightly high blood count. I still havent been diagnosed with anything but its always a good idea to seek medical advise. I suggest you take the reports and consult your child's doctor.
