Your Freedom to Use Compounded Prescriptions is Under Attack

Posted May 20 2009 1:21pm

Senators Ted Kennedy, Pat Roberts and Richard Burr have teamed up to push for legislation that would give the FDA control of all compounded prescriptions. Until now each state Pharmacy Board has controlled compounding independently of FDA intrusion. This legislation will benefit the Big Pharma coffers the most and potentially will limit your access to any compounded prescription. I have attached a letter from one of the biggest compounding pharmacies that I use giving further details. I urge all my readers to write to the Senators expressing your concerns about what is obviously a very dangerous piece of legislation if the FDA decides to listen to Big Pharma again and try to limit compounding in this country. Here is a link where you can send emails directly to the Senators.

There are many compounded prescriptions used in this country, including for analgesic compounds, nausea after chemotherapy, pediatric compounds, and hormonal compounds.
