Is a Pars defect considered a type of neural tube defect?

I apparently was born with this par's defect and had to have surgery at 46 yrs. of age to correct.  My daughter is now 4 mos. pregnant and has a slightly high prenatal blood test for neural tube defects.  This can be heredity.  Can these things be related? or am I being paranoid?
