Unless you are a hardcore farmer (Amish or something), you are not a perfect environmentalist. Not only is it next to impossible to accomplish perfection in your eco-efforts, you will only get frustrated trying. Therefore, yourintentionsare the only thing that truly matters. Do you have a green heart?
It is so important to me to peel away all the layers of B.S. in the world and unveil the simple bottom line. My bottom line, I've found, is love. Love is the meaning of life. How you implement that is what makes you unique.
My way of showing love is to care for everyone - human and animal. By taking better care of the earth we can ensure better health and enough resources for everyone. At our current rate of destruction these things are not possible, and that highlights our selfishness. Ever had a really horrible neighbor - one that made huge messes and noises and bad smells, generally disregarding any thought of you or your feelings, making your daily living situation intolerable? Well, America is a bad neighbor. The problem is, the rest of the world can't just up and move across town to get away from us. I am embarrassed to be an American.
It doesn't have to be that way. If everyone just made a few tiny changes it would make such a huge difference. I have come to learn that what separates me - and my fellow greenies - from the rest of society is the fact that we actually care. Many people openly and proudly admit to me that they have the knowledge to change but lack the compassion to do so, and that breaks my heart.
This website is my attempt to share with you all of the things I am learning in my quest to become the darkest shade of green possible. I share my opinion, yes; but mostly it is straight-up facts. You can use these facts as a starting point in your own green quest, and please share with me how its going!
