Our partner Virgin America is the first U.S. carrier to offer passengers the option to offset in-flight. Already, Virgin America has implemented sustainability practices to reduce its carbon footprint and lets passengers offset through the ticket-purchase confirmation page. Now the carrier provides the option to offset via Red
TM, the airline's touch-screen seatback entertainment system.

Giving passengers the opportunity to offset while flying helps get more individuals involved in reducing their carbon footprint and supporting projects that help fight global warming. In December, we announced our partnership with Virgin America to give passengers the option to offset their flight at the time of booking their ticket online. Offsetting in-flight provides another convenient way for passengers to offset their flight, including those passengers whose ticket was purchased by someone else, such as their company or a relative.
Offsetting via Virgin America supports Carbonfund.org's Chino Basin, Calif. biodigester project and Truck Stop Electrification project. Among the airline's sustainabilty practices are operating with single engine taxiing, maximizing use of efficient ground power, and utilizing advanced avionics to fly more efficiently.
