Detox Diet

Detoxification is a process of removing toxins from the body.
Detox diet, involving a change in consumption habits in an attempt to detoxify the body

Breakfast

Banana porridge : Porridge made with water and topped with natural yogurt , banana , raisins and sweetened with honey.

Lunch

A large bowl of vegetable or lentil soup , with oatcakes or brown rice and oatcakes.

Snack

Fresh fruit or fruit salad
Natural yogurt mixed with honey and plain popcorn
Handful of unsalted nuts or seeds or almonds and walnuts

Dinner

Stir fry a selection of vegetables such as spring onion , mushrooms , and bean sprouts in a little olive oil with garlic and ginger . Serve with brown rice.

Detox remedy- Add one teaspoon amla ( gooseberry ) powder to hot water and honey to cleanse the system

Foods to avoid

Red meat , chicken , turkey and meat products like sausages , burgers.

Milk, cheese , eggs , cream

Butter and margarine

Those that contain wheat including bread, croissants , cereals , cakes, biscuits , pies , pastry , battered or bread crumbed foods.

Crispy and savoury snacks including salted nuts.

Chocolate , sweets , jam and sugar

Processed foods , ready meals , ready – made sauces and takeaways

Alcohol

Coffee and tea

Sauces , pickles, shop – brought salad dressing and mayonnaise

Salt

Fizzy drinks and squashes , including diet variations
