I did it!! I’ve covered at least 26.2 miles of Boston on foot , assuming we walked a 2 mph pace.
7 miles on Thursday
9+ miles on Friday (including a 5.5 mi. run)
10 miles today (including 4 mile run)
7 + 9 + 10 = 26!!
My legs and feet are exhausted - and we still have more to do tonight!
Back to this morning…..
I got my Dunkin Donuts coffee : hazelnut with a touch of skim. I split it with Matt so I had about 1/3 of this guy.
It was good, but not something I’d go nuts over. But maybe you have to form an addiction first
Matt and Larbs had a coupon for a free donut with a coffee and got a vanilla creme filled one. They shared a bite with me. I thought the donut was just OK, but the icing - buttercream - was awesome.
We walked all through Quincy Market and along the waterfront - gorgeous!! I really love this city. I had a bite of a cookie Matt’s mom got at the market
Matt’s parents treated us to lunch - thank you to the Allens! Matt’s mom is an R.D. so it was fun to talk nutrition talk
Everyone was craving Clam Chowdah for lunch, so we settled into the nearby Joe’s for a bread bowl.
We ordered a round of Harpoon beers since we decided to skip the brewery tour for another viist. Larbs and I shared the UFO (I probably drank a third?)
OH MY GOSH THE BREADDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Boston bread > San Francisco bread.
I was thrilled to get more bread with my soup. The chowder was fantastic - but very rich and filling (and definitely not the healthiest choice!). I ate about 75% of my chowder cup and probably 50% of the bowl (including the top). Scraping the inner sides are the best part of a bread bowl!
I also ordered a Side Salad to have for some filling green crunch (raspberry-walnut dressing on the side)
We’re putting our feet up now before we head back out to dinner to La Galleria 33 in the North End, followed by a trip to the famous Mike’s Pastry .
My flight tomorrow is at 8am, and I have to get up at 5 to get to the airport via public transportation. Since I think we’ll probably be back late tonight, which will put me pressed to get to bed ASAP, and I’ll have time to kill at the airport, I’m going to save my evening post to do tomorrow morning at the airport. Given it’s a Saturday night and your probably all out having fun yourselves, I’m sure it’s not a big deal to be a few hours late
