Carrots 'N' Cake - My Favorite Things

Posted Nov 05 2009 10:02pm

Continuing with ourMy Favorite Thingsseries,TinaofCarrots 'N' Cakerecently shared with us some of her kitchen picks:

Vita-Mix Super 5200 Blender: This thing is diesel! It’s heavy-duty and powerful. Not at all wimpy. Of course, you can use it to make smoothies, but it also doubles as a food processor. I've madehomemade hummusand party dips with it. Really, the options are endless with the Vita-Mix Blender. It's been such an awesome addition to our kitchen!

Stainless Steel Drinking Straws:I had no clue these even existed! Stainless steal straws are a more environmentally-friendly option to my daily iced coffee habit. The straws don't make my iced coffee taste differently, but it does add a cold sensation to it.

Stainless Steel Tea Strainer:Great for freshly brewed tea! The tea strainer is large enough for a single cup or a whole pot of tea. And, the strainer makes it so easy to brew the tea. For a mug, you just add hot water to 1.5 tsp of loose tea leaves and let seep for 5-6 minutes before removing the strainer. The fine holes removed even the smallest leaves and sediment from my mug.

Griddler:The Griddler is probably my favorite "gadget" in our kitchen. It makes delicious pressed sandwiches as well as meat, fish, and even pancakes. Love it!
