Tomorrow I leave for Italy where I'll be spending time in Bologna and Lake Como.
Why Bologna? Because I love food and Bologna is quite simply a food-lovers paradise: bolognese, prosciutto, mortadella and salame all hail from the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy, and I love them all.
You may now be wondering why I decided to visit a city known for its food when I’ve re-dedicated myself to losing weight. The truth is that I planned this trip in September 2007, well before I decided that the time was right to change my eating habits.
As such, I type this article with much trepidation. I’ve spent quite a bit of time this past weekend compiling a circuit that I will be able to do in my hotel room with nothing more than my bodyweight.
My in-room circuit workout includes:
• Prisoner squats
• Stick-ups
• Push-ups
• Lunges
• Jumping rope
• Mountain climbers
• Step-ups (on to the bed)
In regards to the diet, I’m entering this trip with an “everything in moderation” mentality.
Time will tell how successful I’ll be. As we know, the scale never lies.
Stay strong.
Peace.
Ciao!!
Susan
