Today is the start of blogging for peace. I learned of this after visiting a Web site with a beautiful post about peace. It starts with each and every one of us in our relationships with our loved ones. It was by Ruth Jen, who wrote about how she lost her husband of many years. She notices many people needlessly arguing with their spouse, children or other loved ones. I'm guessing that she would give anything to have her husband back for one day and it saddens her to see others not appreciating each other, knowing how fleeting life is. It's a gentle reminder to us to cherish each moment with our own loved ones, in peace. This post certainly made me stop and think.
Try letting go of the need (or habit) to control or complain, and focus on the good in others. Chances are that you will find it. Cultivate peace in your own heart (and home) today or maybe even this month. If you can change yourself, who knows, maybe together we can change the world?
Later this morning, I was visiting author and conscious living counselor Kathy Freston's Web site. There is a peace sign at the bottom of her home page. When you click on this, it brings you to a beautiful meditation on peace. It's one of my favorites. Please check it out. I'm going to cut, paste, and print it out and leave it on my nightstand as a daily meditation this month.
Please share anything you find helpful in creating inner (and outer) peace. Coincidentally, this book helped me with relationships.
