Another weekend just flew by…
Saturday
My free day! I was very free with my eats on Saturday.
I did have my morning bagel…

Parmesan garlic with cream cheese, Pumpkin Spice coffee with skim.
It was delicious. But did I feel sick after? Of course.
Luckily the dried kiwi I snacked on and my Whole Foods lunch were gluten-free, and they made my tummy feel much more at ease.
When my mom + I got to whole foods we made a beeline for the hot bar…
Love.
I got a plethora of Indian foods, along with a couple other random bites- a jalapeno honey chicken wing that was TDF, 2 bites of mac n’cheese, grilled veggies and a little caesar salad. Indian foods included a samosa, chana Masala, curry Chicken, curry vegetables, chicken vindaloo and some brown basmati rice. I downed it. Except for most of the samosa. And I washed it down with my fave juice ever, of course.

We spent SO long in the store, it was amazing. Something like 3 hours?!? I had lots of fun finding new gluten-free products (if you missed yesterday’s post I am trying out a gluten-free lifestyle).

And tried many a sample, including my FAVORITE cheese, hands down. I could probably eat an entire wheel. No joke.
Yum, yum, yum…

They were giving away free cake for their 1-year anniversary and my mom + I planned on snagging a piece on the way out. No such luck, they sold out! Too bad. We grabbed some g-free cookies to snack on on the way home instead.
So tiny, so yummy!

Back home I tried a new product we grabbed…

Now, I am NOT a fan of artificial sweeteners. But I LOVE stevia. It’s all natural, no crazy chemical compounds, doesn’t give me a headache or a tummy ache. So I was super excited to try this soda. I am a big soda fan, but I don’t like diet sodas because of the artificial sweeteners… and I don’t like regular sodas because of the sugar content. This is the perfect solution!
The Verdict?
I LOVED it!!! Seriously. It tasted just like the real thing. In fact, I am sipping another one now =)
When dinnertime approached, my sister and her boyf ordered chinese, and my mom and I decided we were not in the mood for msg-laced heart attack inducing grease mounds. So we went the El Fuego route instead!
BURRITOS!!!
My mom and I split a Vegetarian burrito and a Chicken Ranchero. Vegetarian is beans, cheese, rice, peppers, mushrooms, onions. Chicken ranchero is slow cooked chicken, onion, cheese, bbq + ranch.
Both were amazing! And of course we had chips, salsa + sour cream.
Gone. Whole thing.
My mom and I watched I Love You Man and laughed our butts off. Then we decided ice cream was in order for dessert.
Amazing. 2 scoops + 1 of my sister’s half-baked.

It was a great, relaxing free day!
Sunday
Although it was fun eating lots of yummy not-so-healthy foods, I was excited to eat lots of healthy, g-free foods today!
I started the day off with a long run. It was BEAUTIFUL out… sunny, cool and crisp but not cold, and the pavement was calling my name. So I skipped HIIT in favor of a comfortable long run. And run I did! I set my timer and vowed not to glance at my watch until I got back home. So I ran, and I ran, and I ran… and came home once I started feeling like I needed some fuel. 57:33 minutes later.
I ran for almost an hour! At an easy, comfortable pace, but it was glorious! I was on such a high afterwards!
I cooked up an awesome post-run breakfast, my usual sunday egg white/veggie/lcl scramble and two pieces of light brown rice bread with Better’n PB.
I’m not sure how I feel about this bread. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t really good either! It only has 50 kcals and 2 g fat per slice, and 3 g fiber. No protein.
It will do, but I will be searching for other g-free breads as well to see what I can find.
Today was FILLED with work… I finished my pregnancy paper, my lab report, and studied for two exams this week. I also cleaned off my desk, and started a Mint.com account to track my budget. (Thanks, Jenna!)
I made time for some yummy food.
Snack, 11am
0% Chobani + Cinnamon= dip for my Macintosh!
Lunch, 1pm

Banana+ Chocolate pro powder + skim milk + flax
Snack, 4pm
Tasting plate! 1/3 c cottage cheese, ~1tbsp hummus, Mary’s Gone Crackers + Organic carrots
Dinner, 6pm

SLOPPY JOES! So amazing, so easy. Check out the recipe on my recipes page soon!! Turkey Sloppy Joe mix + Cauliflower + this wrap…

It was really tasty, my only complaint is that it “broke” really easily and I’m afraid it will not make good panini! I must experiment ASAP!
And tonight I am super excited about a new Stonyfield yogurt treat!
I need to go get my bags ready for the morning… this week is a busy one for sure, but it will all pay off in the end… Saturday night is Halloween!!
Anyone have an interesting costume planned? I think I’m just going with a simple devil this year…
