Yesterday was quite the eventful day!!
It was my first Free day, and I was excited to have some freedom in what I ate- but my goal was to not go overboard.
I started out with the breakfast I have been craving all week (coincidentally, it was my last “free” breakfast as well before I started BFL!) a bagel with cream cheese. I love my bagels!

I headed into work around 9:30, but not before stopping to grab some lunch at Roch’s, the small grocery store near my house. I left my wrap in the car (iced in my lunch box!) and headed in to start my first day working the football games.
I helped set up, and around 11 my boss told us all to “grab something to eat, we probably won’t have much time later,” and he offered us free hot dogs, hamburgers and sausages. Well, I knew my wrap was in the car and I wasn’t terribly hungry so I passed on an early lunch and snacked on a home made chocolate chip cookie instead. BAD IDEA KRIS!!!
I had NO break from 12 pm-4pm when I got out. Thats five hours with nothing but a cookie to hold me over! I did have two BIG cups of ice water (probably 4-5 cups worth) but it was not enough to keep away the pounding headache I felt when I finished. It was a good day, but it was nonstop. As soon as I was done at 4 I shoved my dijon chicken wrap (dijon chicken salad, lettuce, tomatoes and pepper on a spinach wrap) in my mouth as fast as possible on the way home. (No time for pictures, I was HANGRY!)
Back home I had a few minutes to try and solve my blog issue- apparently wordpress changes www.kristinsnibbles.com to http://kristinsnibbles.com??? So it’s not showing up in google reader. Thank goodness for my amazing girls Michelle and Janetha, who had my back letting you guys know I was up and running over here at wordpress =)
THEN the fun began. My mom and I have been craving PASTA all week, and although we can have pasta on bfl, we both knew we wanted the good stuff- white pasta, creamy sauce, the works.
So I grabbed a lemonade to take on the road

And made my way to Olive Garden with my Momma and sis for a fun girls night out!
Olive Garden has always been a very social restaurant for me. I always used to go as a kid with my mom and aunt and cousins (before my sister was old enough to remember!) and in high school my friends and I used to go at least once a month, if not more (and it’s 30 minutes away!). Yes, I know it’s a chain- but the food is GOOD, c’mon… and they’re getting better on the healthy scale nowadays- they even have an option on their website where you can find the “olive branches” which show you which items are healthier =)
Of course we had s alad + breadsticks …
I had salad x2 and 1 breadstick.
And then we dug into never ending pasta bowls!!
For never ending bowls, these babies were HUGE!!
This is orrechiette with creamy parmesan florentine. I ate about 1/3 of this and packed up the rest to send home with my dad. But I wasn’t done yet- I wanted to try another!

MUCH better portion size!! I should have asked for the small bowl to start. I had the angel hair with roasted portabello pomodoro, which was good- but not fabulous like the florentine. I ate about 1/3 of this as well.
At the end of dinner, I felt full, but not stuffed. I’m sure I COULD have finished both bowls of pasta, because they were very good- but I chose not to. Which I was happy about because I knew I wanted dessert!
Maple soft serve with chocolate sprinkles in a cone… with a cup and a spoon because it was TOO soft!
After dessert we went to the movies, where we saw The Time Traveler’s Wife. I read the book and LOVED it, and the movie did not disappoint! I thought both Rachel McAdams and Eric Bana did a wonderful job portraying Claire and Henry. I didn’t cry (I never cry at movies!) but I was getting pretty teary-eyed! You know thats a good movie when even MY eyes well up =)
I also had a few handfuls of the good stuff…

I shared this with my mom + ali, so we each got moderate portions. I like to make my popcorn last by grabbing a handful and eating it one piece at a time, so I savor the flavor but end up eating a LOT less than if I was shoveling it into my mouth!
Are you a popcorn picker or a popcorn shoveler?? I’m interested to hear if I’m the only one that does that!
Ok, that’s all for my free day, I’ll be back again later tonight for today’s eats!!!
