Hello world! I am feeling a bit numb today. I got some sucky news yesterday, and have dealt with the disappointment the best I can - I'm over it, but I think it may have manifested itself in a loss of hunger. Which, for me, is weird because it used to mean big binges.
I hopped to the gym pretty quickly this morning, before I could argue my way outa it. After a 45-minute workout (which was not the least bit challenging; I definitely phoned it in) I wasn't hungry, but I had to work for 4 hours so I reluctantly ate something that I knew would be very filling.
Berry Protein Oat Bran:

It tasted good, but it left me feeling even more dull in the tummy.
I ran errands and organized for my part time personal assisting job today. It's funny grocery shopping for someone else and seeing how differently we eat. It was actually my first time EVER going up to the deli counter to order a pound of ground beef. I got nervous!
By the time I got home I still wasn't hungry but it was already 3 pm so I had a light-ish lunch. I have a delicious dinner of leftovers to look forward to and I'd like to have an appetite for it.
I nuked 1/2 a container of Dr. McDougall's Split Pea Soup with a huge handful of organic baby spinach:

The soup was delish - I am a fan of these particular boxed soups for their convenience, natural ingredients, and their flavor/hearty textures - this one had barley in it.
Did you spot that whale coming out of the green sea?

Whale Tails sent us some of their tortilla chips to sample. Of course the first thing I did was examine their ingredients:

Looks pretty great! Especially the Hawaiian Sea Salt (Alaea), which contains "over 80 trace minerals from the sea."
I also love that their product looks EXACTLY like what's on the package.

I had a bunch of Whale Tails with my souped up soup:

They tasted good - like a regular tortilla chip, but I love that they're all-natural and the company participates in eco-improving causes, including donating a portion of their proceeds to whale research.
Plus, they're freaking adorable.
What do you do when you're not feeling hungry? I definitely feel like I'm just going through the motions today with everything - exercise, eating, etc.
Here's some things I'm happy about - " White on Rice" opens in San Diego today and continues to play in Hawaii. It's also playing at the Vancouver Asian Film Fest this weekend, along with " The People I've Slept With," which is the closing night movie. I'm also excited for Austin next weekend - I'm going to do some "White on Rice" promotion, with a special appearance at the University.
On the blog front, we have an awesome Chobani giveaway that I'm excited to see a lot of readers coming out of the woodwork to participate in. I love hearing from new commenters!
And of course, I'm grateful for my husband, my dog, my family/friends and Friday!!!
