Mahk from "The Workshops"

Posted Oct 25 2008 4:49pm

Mark Mark Wallack has been studying photography since the 70s. Last week he was the perfect assistant to Kate Izor in our "Digicrash" course at " The Workshops". They complemented each other well. While Kate taught in the lab, Mark made sure that we "got it" as we practiced shooting pictures indoors and out. He'll be teaching his own classes at The Workshops later in the summer. He loves his students and stays in touch with many of them.

One student he developed a friendship with was the late Dr. Benjamin Spock (the baby doctor) and his wife Mary.  According to Mark, Dr. Spock practiced macrobiotics later in life and lived to the ripe old age of 94. Dr. Spock did admit that he still craved cheese, but never ate it because Mary kept him on the "straight and narrow."

Mark visited Dr. Spock and Mary in LaJolla, Calif., about a week before the doctor passed away.

I hope to keep in touch with Mark, too, and would love to take one of his classes.

Thanks, Mark. I learned a lot! Meg
