Petit Robert Bistro

Posted Aug 13 2009 11:03pm

All 6 bloggers arrived safely in Boston! I still can’t believe we’re all together in one city! It’s crazy, but I love it!

On our way to the Rustic Kitchen, Caitlin, Meghann, and Meghann’s sister arrived at the hotel via taxi. We immediately greeted them with big hugs, but our chatting was cut short because we had dinner reservations very soon. While the Floridians prettied themselves, Kath, Jenna, Heather and I chilled at the bar at the Rustic Kitchen.

Jenna and I both ordered a glass of wine– we shared a few sips with Kath.

Soon, the gals arrived at the Rustic Kitchen– and Caitlin came bearing gifts! :-D What else would you bring food bloggers, but antique spoons!? I love this gift! Thanks, Caitlin!

Then we walked about a mile to the Petit Robert Bistro in the South End. Obviously, the conversation flowed non-stop for the entire walk! ;-)

Petit Robert Bistro was such an adorable French restaurant! My French husband would LOVE it!

Jenna helped us select a few bottles of red wine to enjoy with dinner.

Petite Robert Bistro prepared a special vegetarian menu for the HLS bloggers!

Finally, all together! Cheers!

I started the meal with a piece of warm French bread.

Next up: steamed mussels in a sherry marinade! Delish!

My first course was a Vegetable Paté topped with diced tomatoes and onions. I’ve never eaten anything like this before, but I liked it quite a lot! It was light, summery, and packed with veggies, but full of flavor and satisfying.

My main course was Fricasseé of Légumes with Orange and Carrot Purée. Initially, I wasn’t psyched about the orange “baby food” on my plate, but after tasting it, I immediately changed my opinion. The orange purée was absolutely delicious, especially mixed with the grilled veggies! I dipped my bread into it too!

Blog friends! :-D

And, finally, dessert was homemade sorbet topped with a fresh fruit medley. Dessert was outstanding, but unfortunately, I was pretty stuffed. Of course, I managed to enjoy a few bites! ;-)

We have a hot date with Healthworks bright and early, so I’m off to bed. Good night!
