Resolve to Use Your Crock Pot

Posted by Lela D.

This week and next you can take positive steps to accomplishing one of the most popular New Year's resolutions: losing weight. Eating healthy goes a long way toward weight maintenance. Winter is the perfect time to plug in the slow cooker and fill your home with comfort smells too. If you don't have a crock pot, pick one up after Christmas. This little gem cooks wonderful food, saves money, and frees you up to do other things - like exercise!

I use my crock pot at least once a week. It's great for soups, chili and roast. The thing with a crock pot is that when dinner time comes you're prepared. It keeps you from dialing up for take out or eating something less healthy. I've heard you can bake in them but have never tried it. Have you?
I've never baked in my crock pot, but I have made a mean sweet apple oatmeal that was way more dessert than the breakfast it was supposed to be. Here's a great resource for Weight Watchers crock pot recipes, including points: http://hubpages.com/hub/Weight_Watchers_Crockpot_Recipes
i love my crockpot.
In that case, you're going to love my recipe for WAY easy BBQ beef sandwiches! As the days get cooler, I hope to post more of my favorites! Stay tuned for pea soup with a ham bone - that is the BEST!
