Rockin’ the HIIT

Posted Nov 04 2009 10:08pm

Heylloooo….

Sorry this post is so late- I got talking to the boy about silly things (such as bacon tee shirts… seriously.) And one hour and twenty two long distance minutes later, I still haven’t blogged! But it was worth it =)

Onto the food+fitness…

I rocked the HIIT today!!

I don’t know what it was I just felt so damn good, I kept going faster and faster!

Here’s what I managed:

I felt so great after this! I came right home and made breakfast though, I was hungry!!

Meal #1
2009_0423AO3/4 c egg whites, Mrs. Dash Garlic & herb, wilted spinach and a banana.

I basically just fiddled around with facebook, really didn’t do much at all (it’s a sunday!) until I had my  next meal.

Meal # 2
2009_0423AQ1/2 c Kashi Go Lean, 1 container 0% chobani

LOVE this combo- it kept me full for hours! My mom and I did a big grocery shop to stock up for the week (nothing new but a few bars I will review when the time comes)

I came home and I still wasn’t terribly hungry… but I was ready for my delicious Meal # 3 combo

2009_0423ASLow carb whole wheat tortilla, all natural turkey slices, LCL wedge, greens and banana pepper + a few grape tomatoes

I did get some stuff done after this meal- lots of   writing for a new project, and a to-dos for school. (I already have on syllabus!)

 Meal # 4 was tasty
2009_0424AB

1/2 c lf cottage cheese, sliced peach

I really love this 6-meals thing. I haven’t felt particularly hungry all day, but whenever it was time to eat, I was ready to eat! I HATE feeling hungry so this is a big plus for me!

Dinner was a reinvention of an old favorite, into a healthier, more BFL-friendly meal.

Meal # 5- Healthy Sloppy Joes!

Recipe: Serves five

1 clove garlic
1/2 onion, diced
1.25 pounds lean ground turkey
1/4 c water
1 heaping tsp chili powder (more if you like it hot!)
1/2 tsp cumin
salt and pepper to taste
1/3 c barbeque sauce (I used 365 Organic)
1 cup no-salt-added tomato sauce
Healthy buns of choice

Directions:
Chop onions and garlic and sear in pan on medium until translucent
Add ground turkey, cook until fully browned ; Add water to prevent sticking
Cook until most of water is evaporated. Add spices, salt and pepper. Stir.
Add barbeque sauce and tomato sauce. Stir, and reduce heat to low
Simmer 5-10 minutes

Serve on your favorite healthy buns!

2009_0424ADHealthy Sloppy Joes, 1 Whole Wheat Sandwich thin, green beans.

That wraps it up for today- Meal # 6 will be Cottage cheese + yogurt, because thats what I am craving!

I need to get to sleep, I have a busy day tomorrow!
