Sprinkle The Cinnamon

Posted by Debi P.

Did you know that a dash of cinnamon a day can spice up your health status? Studies of patients with type 2 diabetes found that cinnamon lowers fasting LDL and total cholesterol concentrations in the blood and may possibly aid in controlling blood sugar. The study appeared in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition (2007:85(6), 1552-56) and indicated that this spice may also have a positive effect by lowering the post meal glucose response and gastric emptying rate. Best yet, only SIX grams a day is enough to reduce blood sugar levels.. So what are you waiting for..add some cinnamon spice to your life.

Just had some on my oatmeal! Other than hot cereal, I don't know what else to put cinnamon on. Do you have any ideas?
sliced apples, toast, coffee, smoothies
I love cinnamon! I cook with it a lot. I even throw it in with some cumin, curry and other spices, to bean dishes like kidney beans to serve over rice. It makes for a very tasty Indian-style meal!
