Making a meal plan for the week?including 7 breakfasts, lunches, and dinners, and 2-3 snacks per day'should by your first step. Once you?ve done this, you can write up your grocery list for the week. Once inside the store, follow these tips to avoid slip-ups: ? Stick to outer edges of store and avoid middle aisles. ? Keep children beside you and preoccupy them with finding list items so they?ll be less likely to be tempted and throw you off track. ? Never shop when hungry or rushed or stressed. Shopping should be a leisurely and enjoyable part of your healthy lifestyle. If you have time after shopping, pre-cut vegetables and get all meals ready for the week. This helps you adhere to your diet during those hectic days when you?d rather drive through Taco Bell and be done with it. Most importantly, remember that there WILL BE days when you slip up and break your diet. It's OK! Don?t beat yourself up or use it as an excuse to stray from your plan. Just pick yourself up and get back on track the next time you're hungry.
