Tonight I finally got off my duff! I went to my final two Pilates classes Tuesday and Thursday of this week, but I just couldn't seem to get the old running groove going. Not the mention that it was actually snowing again on Wednesday night when I normally go to Run Club, so that didn't really help.
Anyhow, I was home a bit early this afternoon because of an appointment so I decided to start by putting my running clothes on. Usually once I've made the effort to get changed I can't turn around and hit the couch since I'd feel guilty being dressed and ready to go. It's a silly strategy, but it seems to work for me. I also had a bit of a craving to listen to my running music today. The music I've got on my iPod is not exactly the type of stuff I'd listen to in the car, so I really only listen to it when I'm running and I have to say, I kind of missed the upbeat croonings of Deadmouse, Kevin Rudolf and Metrostation.
By now I've gained about 15 lbs so finding clothes is getting pretty tough. Luckily I came across a great top recently at
Lululemon. It's a regular tank top, but it's extra long, so it's perfect for maternity runners! I believe the style is called the
Gather V Tank and they actually had it on a pregnant mannequin in the store so that's why I noticed it. Anyhow, it fits great for pregos, so I highly recommend it.
I don't look quite as cute as the mannquin did, but here I am just back from a run at 20 weeks, 5 days...

As for what I accomplished out there today, here's the deets:
- Total distance: 5.09 km
- Total time: 37:10
- Average pace: 7:18
I was talking with someone the other day and they couldn't believe I was still running at 5 months pregnant. When I think about it, I have been very lucky to not be sick and not be too riddled with the negative aspects of pregnancy. Although I am running much less frequently, I am so happy to be out there no matter how slow or ungraceful I become! Being able to run, continue with Pilates and even get the odd hike, snowshoe or swim in I believe is beneficial for not just me, but that little guy growing inside.
Now it's off to Book Club and since I read the book over a year ago (before it was a book club pick) I don't really remember anything about it! Oops!
