Yes, do you guys know what day is today? Of course (as the title suggests), today is the World Sleep Day (I didn’t know there’s such a day)! Yep, people around the globe will actually commemorate this faithful day (20th of March) by having more snoozing time? This post is written specifically in order to response to the “punishment” that Foongpc has bestowed upon me for quite a long time! No doubt it’s the famed Meme and tagged post that most people despise. But…not for me, at least not today since I have not blogged for ages.
But before we slip into the much dreaded Meme…shall we ponder about World Sleep Day first?
20th of March–>World Sleep Day!
Nowadays with seemingly tons of un-finish-able errands, home works and social events to attend, it is no wonder the good night sleep that our forefathers enjoyed is a casualty of the hectic life of the young generation (you, me etc)! So what’s screwing our life? What’s the thing that is separating us from theouh-so-cosy bed? I thought we love to be on bed doing the things we like such as…sleep (of course) and making love?
Experts recommend 9 hours of sleep a day for schoolchildren and 7 hours for adults! My! That’s way of what I’m practising right now! Most young people can’t resist staying up late to surf the Internet or play games on his/her PC! BEEN THERE! DONE THAT! It’s easy to lose track of time when we’re chatting with friends online such asMSN, ICQ, etc. or hovering with your buddies at a mamak stall over teh tarik and football match (hey, that’s so me)! The British Sleep Council said computers, radios and televisions in bedroom are why quality sleep is lacking.
And here’s another shocking reason why children stay up late: Home works! Gosh! This must be a bad news for all the teachers! YES! Home works, assignments and exams are keeping our cute, little kids wide awake like owls at night! They are burning more and more midnight oils and transform into nocturnal beings. So who’s to blame besides the inventor of transistor and the late Edison for inventing light bulb?

It restores our mental amd physical processes before we become haywife. It consolidates the informations and datas that we had harvested during the day. ~How do you sleep at night?~
Is your sleep affected by the national angst? Do you drop off easily, as you always did? Or does it take a while to get to sleep?
To be brutally honest! Yes, sometimes my sleep is affected by national angst. I’m concerned about what is revolving around our country. No, I don’t drop off easily.Nah! I can enter snooze mode in no time. As soon as I crash on my warm bed alongside my wife, I’m immediately “deactivated”!
~What strategies, if needed, do you use to get to sleep?~
Pills? Sheep? Late night television show? And/or…?
Contrary to popular beliefs…I consume more coffee to sleep! Well, not that I did it on purpose…but every time I gulp down too much of those drug,s I feel toodamm lethargic that it actually helps me sleep! And of course XXX helps! I GUARAN-DAMM-TEE that statement!
What strategies do you have to get back to sleep?
Kissing my lovely wife and my babies? The sight of them sleeping soundly really makes me feel happy. And that in turns really helped a lot.
~Are your dreams affected? ~
Are they more anxious than before? Do they wake you up in a sweat? Or are they peaceful, innocent, undisturbed by the general malaise?
Well, that depends on what mental food “ate” just before bed. Recently I’ve been dreaming about fighting and combating. Must be the action movies that I watched recently. Ha =)
