For Shame...

"Only when we are no longer afraid do we begin to live". Dorothy Thompson

PhotobucketBefore I start this entry I want to highlight a great new website "Violence Unsilenced". The link is located on my sidebar (click it to take you to the site). These are stories of survivors of Domestic Abuse. It's not just a woman's dilemna it's everyone's, it's a child's life, a man's torture, it's the silence that haunts each of us in different ways. You don't need to be a survivor yourself to feel the emotion in each of these entries. Please visit and show support to those who found the courage to give their silence a voice, if you wish you can submit your own story of Domestic Abuse.

As most of you who read me know, I'm also a survivor. My latest entry foretells of some of the ingredients that fed that fallacy and pain:

I remember sitting at the bar with a male friend on both sides of me concerned (neither would protect me in the end). Somehow I knew there wasn’t enough alcohol to dull my senses to what was awaiting me when I went home. I’m quite sure at one point or another, logic had spoken up and whispered I didn’t have to go through with it; I could walk away and start over. My one true friend echoed from the contents of the bottle in front of me eschewing I wouldn’t feel a thing if I had imbibed enough to dull the pain. In the end, it’s a no brainer which one won. For the rest of the story follow the link--->"For Shame..."
