For about 2 wks we have been having problems with Thomas' right processor turning off. At first I thought it may have been the pin pressing on the power button so I would lock the program in after I turned it on ~ it still turned off MANY times during the day.
We than moved on to the battery. I thought it may be the rechargeable battery ~ so we switch over to the disposable batteries. Gave it a few days...still turning off.
We had a CI Support Group Meeting last Tuesday..it was "Ask the Doctors"...Thomas surgeon was there as well as another well respected Dr. from the Cleveland Clinic. Our audiologist happen to there as well as a rep from Cochlear. I spoke with the rep. and she said she would talk with our audi. I ended up sitting next to our audi. so I asked her what she thought the problem would be. She suggested swapping out the coil with our back up coil. That next day I made the switch and it worked. YEAH! Now I have to call Cochlear tomorrow to get them to switch the malfunctioning coil with a new one!
