Is tinnitus due to fluid behind the eardrum and infection likely to go away?

I was diagnosed with chronic otitis media. I finally decided to go to the doctor when I noticed it had begun to cause tinnitus. They prescribed me antibiotics (Zithromax) as well as Claratin to help dry up the fluid/open the eustation tubes.
