Heart problems/stroke

I had a stroke 2 years ago and then had an operation to close 2 holes in my heart. I am now under severe stress at work and am having rapid heartbeats, heart feels heavy, high blood pressure (my blood pressure is normally on the low side). My cardiologist said stress can cause these symptoms but I am worried that I could end up having another stroke or more heart problems.
Am I worrying unneccessarily?
