hepatitis c: HELP VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!

Posted by amanda y.

Hi, I am a 19 year old female who has been diagnosed with Hepatitis C and Fatty Liver disease, and have also had pancreatitis in the past. Lately I have been extremely tired, no appetite, blood clots when I urinate (it was blood red, now it has become very dark brown almost black blood) upper right quadrant pain, and a lot of bilirubin in my urine. Can you please tell me what is happening? I am very scared.

Please help me if anybody knows... i am scheduled for another ultrasound on friday morning... i have gotten a couple of them done in the past months and they have ssaid that my liver is affected, but there was never bilirubin in my urine

sounds like the hiv related strain is doing it's job, maybe you need to seek treatment for the hep c. some people it takes years for it to affect others aren't so lucky, have you got any treatment for the life threating illness?

You are young and outside the "profile" that most doctor's are comfortable in. The won't even consider some things at your age, just because of your age, so 2nd and 3rd opinions are VERY IMPORTANT for you.

This is nothing to fool around with. Your conditions is VERY conducive to the development of Hepatocellular Carcinoma. With your symptoms, it's likely you will develop HCC within 10 years if you don't get yourself fixed up.

The HVC (Hepatitis) is treatable with interferon/peg mixture, and at your age is worth doing despite the side effects if you get cured (somewhere around half do) and the fatty liver part can be cured through diet and some alternative or complimentary medicines.

You should already be taking at least a milk thistle extract to help protect your healthy liver cells at a minimum. Lots of fruits and veggies, especially black grapes and blueberries.

But please don't put your life in one doctor's hands. Get 2nd and 3rd opinions!

May the Force be with you,

Marvin

hiv related strain?? they did say that i needed to seek treatment. interferon. the problem is, i have 2 children under the age of 2 and not a lot of support.  they said that if i don't get treament i have at most 10 years before i'd need a transplant.
the doctor also said my genotype is 2B.. they said that it's the best type to have, not that having hep is good at all....  lately i've been just so completely exhausted... and the pains in my stomach are so frequent anymore.. i was holding my 11month old the other day and out of nowhere the pain was so overwelming i had to put him down and try and lay in different positions to get it to stop... i changed my diet and have been doing really well with it. i never take medicine. but i do drink a lot of coffee... i had read up on the internet that coffee is good for your liver? is this true?
