Thanks go out again to the anonymous donor who provided the funds for our very own laptop. It is an HP 500 with DVD and CD writer. We couldnt be more pleased. I think Mr. Tiro is breathing a sigh of relief that he finally can call his laptop his own. For the past 9 months, Mr. Tiro has allowed us to use his laptop so we all owe him a lot. He never once complained and often put his own work on hold so we could try and try to access our server. It can take us hours just to send one post. Nothing in Nata is easy. It took a journey of 1420 miles just to buy this laptop!! We first went the 350 miles to Gaborone only to find they were sold out. We then put in a special order to a store in Maun and when we went the 180 miles to pick it up, we discovered the order never came in. It was on our third attempt that we struck pay dirt. We bought the laptop in Kasane (180 miles from Nata) from Kasane Computers. They made a special order for us from South Africa. We want to give a big thank you to Tienne and Karen who gave us a great price and even threw in some free software. They realize we are a non profit and did there best to get us the computer we wanted at a great price. Tienne also helped us to set up the laptop and gave us a lot of useful tips. Thank you guys so much!!
