Sunday at Nata clinic

Just because it’s Sunday, the Nata Clinic doesn’t close.  Nurse KT helps this small child who has a case of sand worms.  The child contracts the worms by sitting in the sand where dogs, who carry the worms, defecate and then they enter the child’s skin. She treated the child with a spray that kills the worms. Fungal infections and abscesses are also common ailments.  Ndiwo treats a huge abscess of this young patient.  She sterilized and bandaged the abscess to prevent infection.  If it doesn’t burst and drain on it’s own it will be cut by the Doctor.  The clinic also has 30 patients with active Tuberculosis and they are required to come to the clinic everyday (including Sunday) to take their medication.
