Walking...Out /There/ by KaliTime C. 2 Comments Posted in: Blog Posts in Walking The mere prospect of this is getting my stomach churning. :( I don't like the outside. I have panic moments. I prefer indoors, preferably alone or in small familiar company. This is a big step for me but I'm going to do it. >:| Read on »
Thyroid and Calcium Levels by KaliTime C. 1 Comments Posted in: Blog Posts in Weight loss Despite working out everyday and eating properly, I seem to have gained weight after initially losing quite a bit. I started out on this site weighing 230lbs and got down to 200lbs before getting back up to my current weight of 236lbs. Now, I've been working out at least two hours a day, eating all the right foods, and even going so far as to av... Read on »
Ongoing Process by KaliTime C. 6 Comments Posted in: Blog Posts in Stress Relief Sometimes, familial relationships can account for quite a bit of stress in a persons life. In my personal experience, there's been a large amount of guilt at not being able to "fit in" like I perceived everyone else must have been doing. There's also been external pressure from family members to "go along" with what everyone else said was right.... Read on »
Stress Test by KaliTime C. 2 Comments Posted in: Blog Posts in Weight loss I went yesterday for the treadmill test to join the Exercise for Mood Disorders study. It was fun but I'm not quite sure whether I did ok or not. I barely broke a sweat despite a half an hour of strenuous walking both flat and on a steep incline. At my maximum and my blood pressure was 162/78 but I didn't hear my heart rate. :( In one and a half... Read on »
Lazy Saturday Knitting by KaliTime C. 1 Comments Posted in: Blog Posts in Stress Relief I am going to spend the entire afternoon with needles in my hands. I'm entitled to a bit of relaxation after the long arduous week I've had. I'm currently working on a winter hat, scarf and fingerless gloves for myself. Before I do any of this, I've got to mail some long promised/as yet undelivered items to two people I admire. Both have been wa... Read on »
*shudder* by KaliTime C. 4 Comments Posted in: Blog Posts in Martial Arts I've got to get away from learning Tai Chi from certain instructional programs. With Yoga, I have Wai Lana. I like Wai Lana. I won't say names but I'm highly annoyed by the person who teaches the instructional TV show I'm resigned to watch. He is an abomination to me. An anathema. A plague. Phage. Eviiiiiil. Read on »
They're Already There...Wow by KaliTime C. 1 Comments Posted in: General Discussion in Strength Training I got a DEXA done and I was in shock at just how much muscle there actually was when I saw the printout. I got to get it showing more. Read on »
Clinical Studies - JHMI Lab Rat Hopeful by KaliTime C. Posted in: Blog Posts in Exercise I'm in the process of joining a medical study. While my attempt at losing weight worked for a bit, I wasn't able to maintain my goal. Alas. My main issue to work on is not allowing the stress of others to enter my life and interfere in my personal peace (and sometimes space). Unhealthy stress isn't good at all when working on something like this... Read on »
Biking Novice by KaliTime C. 4 Comments Posted in: General Discussion in Exercise I wish people would leave me alone about this one. I am a person who has neither learned to swim, nor ride a bicycle, nor rollerskate. The moment I disclose these facts, I get ridicule and disbelief. Yeah...way to motivate. I'm looking at websites and trying to figure out a way to teach myself bicycle riding at least. I finally got one, thanks ... Read on »
Morning Routines by KaliTime C. 3 Comments Posted in: Blog Posts in Weight loss Every morning, I'm up by 4:30am to start my workout routine. First I meditate to clear my mind of all the negative backlash my inner self likes to throw out in the morning about going back to bed and putting off a day of working out. Once I do that, I start doing stretches to get my limbs loose. I've found that to be invaluable in helping with s... Read on »
The Beginning by KaliTime C. 4 Comments Posted in: Blog Posts in Weight loss As of today (17 July 2007) I am 1.6 meters tall and I weigh 92 kilos. I'm committed to losing at least 23 kilos of that. The height isn't very likely to change but I'm definitely going to do something about the weight.I have been overweight for most of my life and, with the exception of a few post illness periods, have been over the 190 mark sin...
