THIS week’s theme/prompt is:
H E A D S - “Getting There”
Make a post describing how you could ‘get from one place to another’ as your theme/prompt.
For these theme prompt I’ll take about from being HEALTHY to HAVING LUPUS then GOING INTO REMISSION. I guess, that’s getting from one place to another, right?
Before I was diagnosed with LUPUS
- working in an international company that is the world’s leader when it comes to computers
- i met the love of my life and become HE become my first boyfriend
- enjoying life to its fullest
- climbing the corporate ladder
2002
- had a high fever for one week
- started having severe joint pains that I cannot walk, sit comfortably and even hold the spoon and fork
- was hospitalized for two weeks and then on the second week, red and brown rashes appeared on my body. a big butterfly rash appeared across my cheeks.
- i was told that i had lupus ( I WAS CLUELESS ABOUT THIS DISEASE) and my blood supply is at a low.
- got my first blood transfusion.
- was released from the hospital but admitted again after a week, another blood transfusion and stayed in the hospital for six days.
- was on leave from work for two months.
2003
- my mobility slowed down. i was like an 80 year old woman with osteoporosis as I walk. I cannot climb the stairs without assistance nor step up on elevated surfaces without feeling the pain. if I stand for more that three minutes my legs would grow numb that I can’t move.
- got some gastrointestinal virus attack and was hospitalized again. this time for two weeks.
- on leave from the office again for two months
2004
- got operated in the lungs because of pleurisy ( fluid in my lungs)
- after operation was diagnosed with pulmonary embolism (blood clot)
- when i had an ultra sound for my kidney, they found out that i have cyst on my ovary
- spent a month at the hospital
- another two months of leave
- and then later part of the year got hospitalized again
2005
- i decided to take matters on my hand. I search for alternative medicine.
- I found a herbal medicine that many claims to cure LUPUS. I drank that herbal medicine together with the maintenance med that my doctor prescribed.
- At the first week of taking that med, my mobility got back to normal. Every pain that I feel because of LUPUS was gone.
- Because of the change in my health we took that opportunity to get married. Yes, my first boyfriend have never left me but rather showered me with unconditional love. And we just know it was time for us to tie the knot.
- Five months after getting married we found out that we were pregnant. I was apprehensive because my doctor told me that there might be some side effect from the medicine I am taking to my baby. She might be born with abnormalities. He then asked me if I would continue with my pregnancy despite that consequences. I said YES because no matter what she is GOD’S GIFT TO US.
- All my laboratory test during pregnancy shows a inactive LUPUS. And what more ultrasound shows a normal baby in my tummy!
2006
- I gave birth to a healthy baby girl in July 23, 2006 without any complication. The only problem that we encountered was me suffering from PRE ECLAMPSIA, that’s why I needed to deliver via CS
- My baby was born without neo natal LUPUS. Which according to research is just to be expected for babies born out of mothers with LUPUS.
- In October 2006, my husband flew to Kuwait to work
2007 – present
Until now I cannot believe how blessed I was to be able to survive all this struggles. Looking back I thought I was really going to die because of LUPUS. But thanks to the ALMIGHTY MAN UP THERE for giving me a new lease in life. And giving me instruments for me not to GIVE UP. Now, I go once a month for check up. There are times when I got paranoid and nervous that LUPUS might attack my body again. But knowing that God is there for me as well as my family and friends, I know EVERYTHING WOULD WORK OUT FINE.
And for those who commented on my last week HoTs, here is the recent picture of my little angel. The other source of my strength.

I hope i did not bore you with my HOT.
