my right foot below big toe aka "the ball" is numb and looks kind of swollen as well as a little tingly..... any ideas

Looks like you may have injuried or damaged a nerve in "the ball" area. Put ice on it to bring down the swelling and check with a doctor to see how serious the numbness and tingly is.
I haven`t injured it at all.  Someone mentioned gout.   I have been drinking more red wine than normal.  Also I have what looks like more than normal toe nail there than normal...  Still not sure...  but it feels wierd..
