My 100th Post Less than three months… 1,215 unique blog visits… US visitors outranking by more than a hundred than visitors from my own country… 100th post!!! What do you get? One happy blogger here with a new title header. Hahaha!
For me, this is already quite an achievement for
MENstream. I know this is not much compared to other blogs and this surely does not make a dent in Internet site meters out there, but still I am very happy how this blog turned out. My other blog,
HEALTH DOSE, runs for almost a year now, but it does not get close to what
MENstream has already accomplished at the moment. Thank you for your continued support.
My Thoughts on Healthy Lifestyle The artwork in my header is drawn by an artist and friend, Antonio Totto, Jr. I just want to remind readers that healthy lifestyle is really a choice between good and evil.
Improvements in public health brought forth an increase in life expectancy. Scientific and medical breakthroughs saw the leveling off and eventual decreasing trend of infectious diseases. However, the cropping up of more advanced technologies, modifications in food supply and limitless choices of recreational activities saw the rise in chronic lifestyle-related diseases. Growing old was delayed, people had less infections but were more likely to suffer a slow, painful and debilitating death.
In this day and age, Healthy Lifestyle is the message, but people are not listening and making healthy choices. They don’t get concerned about health promoting activities until their 40s or 50s or when they are already feeling some aches and pains. And may equate Healthy Lifestyle with diet or exercise and the mere thought of it makes them tired or sick.
Yes, Healthy Lifestyle is composed of having a healthful diet/proper nutrition, managing stress, avoiding smoking, doing regular exercise and having a regular check-up. But it doesn’t start and end there. Healthy Lifestyle also means a gamut of health practices like breastfeeding babies, having a fully-immunized child, practicing safe sex and responsible parenthood, following road safety, having a happy family, among others. Come to think of it, these are just common sense. Sadly, it seems, only a few follow common sense nowadays!
Please Keep Coming Back Here Let’s keep on blogging!
Lately, right after switching to Firefox 3, I am having difficulties in posting – the text fonts, paragraph layout and even the colors are changing automatically from the layout and design I would have wanted. So, I decided to follow the original template design and settings. Then, Entrecard has not been that reliable lately; most of the times it's off. And not to mention, just when I was starting to do this blog, Google Ads did not permit me to put ads here. Whew!
But despite all these obstacles, I could not resist the temptation of blogging almost everyday. I just hope that people keep coming back here. Pleeeeeeeeeeze!
