Small white bumbs on the back of throat....

My boyfriend has small whites bumbs on the back of his throat and we don't know what it is. There are a lot of them though and he has a sore throat and he has excess felm and it hurts for him to talk. What are they and how do we treat it and if we can without seeing a doctor due to exspences?

His symptoms are of cold sores, mouth ulcers or Tonsillitis, which is an infection of the tonsils.

There are 3 main types of tonsillitis: acute, subacute and chronic. Acute tonsillitis can either be bacterial or viral in origin. Subacute tonsillitis is caused by the bacterium Actinomyces. Chronic tonsillitis, which can last for long periods if not treated, is mostly caused by bacterial infection.

Gargling with a solution of warm water and salt may reduce pain and swelling. OTC pain killers like Tylenol may help also.

He should drink plenty of liquids because dryness of the mouth may be present when these "cold sores" appear.

You should take him to see a doctor as soon as possible for a correct diagnosis.
