Tender (left) abdomen pain

Posted by phil

the left side of my abdomen is very tender, about two inches below my rib cage. Have felt this pain for about 5 days now. It is very sore to touch, sort of feels like a rope burn and becomings a lot worse when i start to walk around in the mornings.

Could this be something serious or just be a muscular problem? I have been in a leg cast for 4 weeks now, could this pain be caused by a bit of weight gain around the stomach region? Or that i am usually up and about performing regular exercise and now have been sat down for excessive periods of time?

 Causes of left abdomen pain include:

* Abdominal wall muscle strain
    * Appendicitis
    * Crohn's disease
    * Ileus
    * Mesenteric lymphadenitis
    * Kidney stone
    * Inguinal hernia
    * Femoral hernia
    * Intestinal obstruction
    * Volvulus
    * Testicular torsion

I would recommend that you be evaluated by a doctor for a correct diagnosis.
