
Dear Stacey,
It certainly can be a sign of perimenopause. Some women skip periods, some have extra periods or erratic bleeding. You are certainly of the age when perimenopause might be the cause, however to be sure you might want have your hormones tested. Your MD or nurse practitioner can tell you if you are entering the Menopause transition or if the bleeding is due to some other cause.

I am 46 yrs old and had my period Oct 5.....now i am bleeding like 15 days later so far for 4 days. The bleeding is not heavy like my normal period. Is this a sign of pre-menopause?
