Menopause link to fatal bowel cancer

Women have a far poorer chance of surviving bowel cancer than men — and Australian researchers suspect menopause is to blame. A four-year study of 1200 bowel cancer patients in Sydney found females were 48 per cent more likely to die from their disease than males. But when researchers divided the statistics into age groups they found women aged 50 and under actually had a better survival rate than men.
