The Male Version of Menopause

You've heard about hormone replacement therapy for women, b ut what about men? Do some men go through a physical "change of life," too? There are doctors who say yes, s o could taking a natural form of hormones help the "guys" just as much as women?

A year ago, 50-year-old Guiesppe Stella would feel really tiredwalking from his car to the doctor's office. He was heavier, sluggish most of the time,and by his own admission, cranky to his wife, b ut these days there's a pep in his step,thanks, he says, to the diagnosis.
Dr. Crisler:"Low testosterone levels."

With a simple blood test, Dr. Crisler found Guiesspe had low testosterone. The Lansing doctor says it's not rare and thathalf the men over age 50are walking around with it now. For women, menopausal symptoms can come on quite suddenly, b ut Dr. Crisler says for men,it's much more gradual.
