No. Migraine is a genetic neurological disease for which, at this time, there is no cure. Although it is not curable, it IS treatable.
This is a very broad question. Entire books could be written on it. Oh, wait! I wrote one of them. LOL!
There are different types of treatment for Migraine. Preventive, abortive to stop the Migraines, rescue treatment for times when the others have failed.
Trigger identification and management is an important part of Migraine management and preventing Migraines. You may have some triggers that you can avoid, thus preventing Migraines brought on by those triggers. Do you know what any of your triggers are? When working to identify triggers one of the best tools is a good Migraine diary. You can read more about this and download a free diary workbook in our article Your Migraine and Headache Diary.
There are now over 100 medications and supplements that can be used for Migraine and headache prevention. The frustration of trying to find what works for us can make it seem as if we’ve tried it all, but with so many possible preventives, it’s literally impossible to have tried them all. See Migraine preventive medications – too many options to give up! for more information.
Good luck,
Teri
BioVeda Technologies has a relatively new treatment for people experiencing migraines. I am having my first therapy session today!! I have terrible allergies, asthma, and chronic headaches. I will update and let you know if the therapy (called BAX 3000) is working for me. If you want to read about it, you can go to www.biovedawellness.com and there is a link for migraines. I'm excited to try something different!
