(apologies for lenght; I'm desperate!)going back to the neurologist soon.6yr hist. w/ chronic (what I thought @ the time) "sinus headaches"w/handful migraines ea. month.4yrs ago very rough patch of daily migraines lead to 3ct scans, mri, ref. to neurosurgeon for what was thought an "AVM". Artialgram b/f laser proccedure showed "not there after all".Thankful, but w/4 months of life taken by so many appts/tests leading to dead end, cancelled foll. up w/ neur. to discuss the mirgaine manage. going forward.Dealt on my own (w/difficulty) ever since. Was gonna make upciming year "my year" to finally go back and address clinically.4wks ago xtremely painful patch of daily migraines pushed me in sooner.Doc said "clusters" gave steriods/Fioricet.Didn't help, back to neur.Says "chronic sinus headahces" not "sinus" more likely chronic migraines in var. degrees (b/c of other symptoms involved)& not sure it's "clusters" right now or just increased migraines due to hormone activity. All to say, he gave relpax shot in office, relpax rx w/ 5 refills, Toradol w/2 refills, nightly anti-depressant for "nerve pain" made foll 2wk app. Since went through the 6 relpax tabs (1st relief truly EVER, but doesn't last long) in 4 days, dumby me 9new @ this migraine rx stuff) thought I'd go get another filled 7 since only 6 @ a time, that's why he gave 5 refills. As you already know, got great news that no refills until next month dues to insurance.NICE...I'm trying to "put my big girl pants on and deal with it" as my fave. saying goes, but very hard.Totally disrupting my personal and work life (as bad as I'm trying not to let it).i beleive in mind over matter, but this is TRULY beyond all my self "therapy" stuff that I'm trying.Been reading how I might be good situation for "preventing" rx's, but completely ignorant as to which truly work and which don't. Esp. since my main WAY BIG trigger right now for them is UBER light sensitivity (I'm livving like a vampire total altered life to maintain only one "sev" migraine a day. Also trying to avoid the toradol as much as can since read those things can produce "rebound headaches" same avoiding the Fioricet. What's the best "preventing" rx on the market and how long does it take in your system b/f it starts to work?
