Easy Ways to Honor the Earth Year Round

Posted Oct 23 2008 9:03am

Easy Ways to Honor the Earth Year Round In our busy tech savvy lives it can be easy to forget about the Earth we should honor. No matter if it is Earth Day or not it is easy to care for the planet any day of the year. Eco-living year round starts with these simple points:

Go Paperless
Reduce the waste you create by going paperless. Be selective of the printing you do at home or on the job. Make folders in your email account to stay organized and limit printing.

Plant a Tree
Planet a tree and create green. Update your home landscape and plant a few trees or bushes. The trees’ leaves can shade your home and cool it in the summer, and save on your air conditioning bill.

Conserve Water
We are lucky that anytime we need it, we got it, but let’s not waste water. When brushing your teeth consider Mother Earth and turn off the water until you are ready to spit. Limit your hot water use when bathing, or washing your face, use warm or cool water. It is better for your skin too. Hot water can dehydrate you.

Recycle and Reuse
Recycling is the easiest thing to do. Do you do it? If you are like me, you recycle as much as you can. Most of the items in your bathroom, from shampoo bottles, to face toners, the cardboard soap boxes, moisturizers, all are made of plastics or paper that can be recycled. Small plastic containers can also be reused into handy Q-tip jars and can hold items you want to store.

You can still live the life you want to, but by adding eco-friendly actions to your routine you will honor the Earth in big ways.
